Innovative arts-based learning programs for people with dementia and other lifelong learners
For People With Dementia
Artsoculus offers a range of arts-based learning programs and workshops for people with dementia. Whether working one-to-one, with a care partners or with a small group, all programs offer opportunities for peer engagement, expression and opportunities to develop artistic skills, technique and style. At the end of each session the participants share their thought and ideas over light refreshments.
Programs include watercolour painting, Japanese paper collage; mixed media; and drawing.
Lowell Jenkins discovered a great sense a joy as he painted and shared stories about his paintings. See more of Lowell’s work in our gallery.
Artist facilitated arts-based learning methods offer unique, open-ended opportunities for investigation and learning that simultaneously engage mutliple aspects of the brain. These experiences have a therapeutic quality that enhances communication and the experience
of joy in the moment.
